Falk crosses and gravestones , saints’ sculptures and roadside shrines made with tertiary sandstone are permanent and distinctive features of achievements of people living in the East Roztocze.

They can be met on the numerous cemeteries in Dziewięcierz, Horyniec Zdrój, Narol, New and Old Brusno and many other places. They are situated solitary by the rivers, fields, forests and crossroads, marking the places of former old settlements. Various sized wayside crosses were also erected to commemorate important events: the abolition of serfdom, receding of cholera epidemic or to express thanks for recovery. Brusno was the biggest centre of extraction and processing of stone.
Brusno is located on the one of the highest ridge of the Middle Roztocze. The village spread among forests , at the bottom of the Mountain which is the source of the stone....
